*VIRTUAL* Offering Meaningful Consolation: Moving beyond fix-it style condolences
June 8, 2022 @ 3:00 pm - 4:30 pm
Join author Dana Lacy Amarisa as she starts us off with her kind, insightful, and straightforward presentation on the practical yet heart-centered steps to saying helpful condolences to a friend, business associate, or family member who might be sad about anything. This talk is based on Amarisa’s book, Condolences Pocket Guide: What to Say and Not to Say to Grievers.
Amarisa is then joined by Mission Hospice Bereavement Coordinator, Christine Kovach, for a Q&A segment that takes a deeper dive into how to bridge the gap that can exist between a griever and their support people (friends, family, and etc.).
Last, but definitely not least, we end this session with an experiential discussion with audience members who want coaching on saying consolation from the heart, or who have questions or comments about starting a healing conversation with a sad friend.
About the author:
Ms. Amarisa founded the Be a Bridge Condolences Project to help ease conversations with people who are sad about anything, by encouraging and educating their family, friends, and business associates about helpful condolences. https://www.beabridgecondolences.com
