For patients & families

Mission Hospice is a local, independent nonprofit that offers personalized care for people with serious illness. We honor and support people’s wishes for the last phase of life and provide our community with exceptional end-of-life care and education.

Why choose Mission Hospice?

Decades of care for our community. As one of the region’s first nonprofit hospices, we have been providing exceptional care for our community for more than 40 years, and have supported more than 16,000 friends and neighbors through illness and bereavement.

We are local. Mission Hospice was founded by local residents in 1979, and is the only remaining independent, nonprofit hospice in the Peninsula and South Bay. Our board, staff, and volunteers all live locally, and we work closely with neighboring hospitals and community agencies.

Our bottom line is patient care. While the majority of hospice providers today are focused on profits, we are committed to people.

Our personalized care goes above and beyond. Our programs are designed to serve patients – and their families – at every stage of an advanced illness, from education about advance care planning to grief support for those who are grieving a loss.

We offer the only hospice house on the Peninsula. In addition to caring for people wherever they live, we offer a peaceful, homelike setting for patients whose comfort cannot be managed in their own homes.

Inclusivity

We believe that everyone deserves care that is aligned with their beliefs, wishes, and values. Our staff and volunteers represent and appreciate the diversity of our community, and we are committed to providing compassionate and personalized care to all patients and families, regardless of their race, age, religion, ability, marital or financial status, sexual orientation, or gender identity.
