Caregiver’s Cafe: A Place to Learn, Connect, and Recharge!
March 2 @ 10:30 am - 12:00 pm
We invite you to join us for a Caregiver’s Cafe! As a family caregiver, you are an essential part of your loved one’s care team and play a vital role in their well-being. We understand that caregiving can be a challenging and overwhelming experience, and we are here to offer support and guidance.
The Caregiver’s Cafe will be part educational workshop and part peer-support group; this is a space to learn, listen, and share. At this gathering, hospice nurse Trudy and hospice social worker Tracie will lead the group in a discussion about the following:
- Understanding the caregiver role overall, and discussing the unique caregiver experience.
- Self-care for caregivers, and what that means. This includes strategies for managing stress and maintaining your own well-being. – Participants will be given a self-care quiz to complete at a later time and we’ll discuss as a group.
- Advice on how to have conversations about end of life planning with the people we are caring for. – Participants will be given a free deck of GoWish cards to take home with them and will be shown how to use these as a planning tool for themselves and others.
- Q&A for our facilitators.
We look forward to gathering in community with fellow family caregivers and hope that these resources and conversations will help make your caregiving journey a little bit easier.
Coffee and breakfast pastries will be provided! Additional food and drinks available for purchase (you can find Sky Cafe’s menu here).
